Birmingham’s latest city-living concept, Allegro, has officially opened. Set within Nikal’s Exchange Square development, Allegro is the city’s newest and largest built-to-rent scheme, providing a new rental experience for the city with 603 homes and a dedicated communal space for residents, complete with wellness centre, private courtyard garden and resident’s hub.
Allegro is managed by Savills, on behalf of landlord LaSalle. The second phase of the scheme will open in October 2019.
Allegro offers a unique opportunity to rent in the heart of the city, and is designed to take lifestyle living to the next level. A dedicated amenity and communal space for residents opens in April and will offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of residents, including The Lounge – a comfortable, communal space offering free Wi-Fi, refreshments and regular community events – as well as a free, high-spec wellness centre, car parking and tranquil gardens.
Residents will also have access to a specialist app, allowing them to book a range of services at the touch of a button from dog walking to cleaning to beauty treatments. For anything that cannot be resolved via the app, an onsite resident services team will be available 24/7.
Catherine Hipperson, associate director in the residential management team at Savills comments: “Allegro represents the very latest thinking in the built-to-rent sector, and is set to provide residents with a truly enhanced rental experience. Offering more than just a home, with an array of exclusive amenities and services, we are thrilled to be managing this new and exciting scheme on behalf of our client.”
Andrew Stanford, Head of Residential Asset Management at LaSalle adds: “We are delighted that the first phase of Allegro has officially opened, LaSalle’s 603 home, purely for rental, scheme in central Birmingham. Allegro is the largest investment in LaSalle’s Build to Rent portfolio and offers our customers an entirely new renting experience from a highly professional long-term landlord. The LaSalle Build to Rent portfolio has grown to just over 2,000 apartments with 3,500 beds. Nearly £500 million has been invested in the last three years.”
Allegro occupies the first of two planned phases at Exchange Square, the latest element within developer Nikal’s £350 million Masshouse Masterplan.
Says, Nikal Development Director, Darren Jones: “The opening of Allegro is a significant milestone in our regeneration of this important city centre location. We are firm believers in ‘progress through partnership’ and have very much enjoyed working with the teams at LaSalle and Savills to bring Allegro to the city. It’s a development we can all be proud of.”
