Masshouse Plaza was the first scheme to be completed within Nikal’s ambitious £350 million Masshouse Masterplan – a significant regeneration project that has completely transformed a gateway location in Birmingham’s City Centre and reconnected the city core with the Eastside.
Progressed in partnership with The Royal Bank of Scotland as ‘Masshouse Developments’, the scheme has created a brand new community within the city centre and is perfectly placed for the future being directly opposite the new HS2 terminal.
Construction on Masshouse Plaza began in 2005 with neighbouring apartment schemes Hive and Lighthouse following just after in response to huge demand for residential accommodation in this prime location. Each scheme is supported by ground floor retail accommodation for shops, cafes and restaurants.
The final two phases of Masshouse – Exchange Square 1 and Exchange Square 2 – are in development. When complete, and subject to planning, Nikal will have delivered circa 1,200 high quality apartments in this location creating a dynamic new urban village in what was previously a ring road and a car park.
